Vehicle Description: 1949 Pickup, under construction. My intent is for it to be a comfortable daily driver in suburban commuter traffic, air conditioned and all. I intend to use the later model pointed grill because I kinda like that style better. The rear axle is a Dana 53 with 4.27 gears sporting Cadillac disc brakes, the front is a Scout II D44 which will probably be turned by a Scout II power steering box. The engine is a ´93 4.3L Chevy V6 with an ´85 V6 non-computerized distributor and aftermarket fuel injection. The transmission is an ´86 700R4 automatic, the transfer case is an NP241 from a ´91 full sized Blazer.

Vehicle Story: Purchased in 2002 as a hulk with no drivetrain and lots of rust. I wanted one that way so I wouldn´t feel bad about hacking up an original speciman. Shortly after going all the way to Conroe to buy the ´49 I found a ´51 that would be good for parts about a mile from my house, it´s the one with the unique paint job. Current condition as of 4/03 is drivetrain installed and running. Hope to finish the whole project by this time next year.
