Vehicle Story: Found this jeep while serving as a technical advisor to the Air Force of El Salvador in 1970. Jeep was in pieces but all parts were in very good condition. Ready to be sold as scrap iron to be melted for making construction iron rods. I bought it for US$40.00 and save it from destruction. I fully restored it in 1972 and used as my daily driver. Left El Salvador in 1981 and came back to Miami. Finally last year I managed to bring the jeep back to the U.S. It was in very poor condition after sitting all those years. I started a complete frame off restauration with most of the parts having to be replaced. I am ready now to install a new body kit. This jeep is my love and pride. I installed a Borg Wagner overdrive from a 54 Studebaker in 1975, using a kit from Rancho Jeep Supply (no longer available). I converted the 6V system to 12V in 1972. At this time I am installing a 12V Ford alternator. I also modified the oil filter system to a more modern spin on type using an adapter sodl by NAPA. If you need any information, feel free to contact me.
