Directions to Bull Creek Park

(Lakewood has a traffic light on it, it's not real well marked though.)

For those of you who are staying overnight at one of the Motels Rick suggested.

Just follow the access road to 183, go right, you'll be under the elevated road, and stay to the left for the entrance ramp.

Then follow 183N to the Hwy 360 south exit.

This will be just past the Mopac (Loop 1) interchange as you go under it stay in the right lane and exit to the right.

After exiting stay to the left, and take the next left at the overpass. This is 360 South. (also known as Capital of Texas highway)

(Stay in the left lane, you'll be turning left onto Lakewood for the Bull Creek Park.)

Go past Spicewood Springs road, and watch for the LakeWood intersection.

Turn left, and follow it around, the first turnin is a bare parking area by the creek, keep going, and you'll find the main park.

It's a narrow road, and the main park is on the left.

 

From Houston via 290 or Hwy 71

Come into Austin, take the 183 North exit to Lampassas.

Follow 183N to the Hwy 360 south exit.

This will be just past the Mopac (Loop 1) interchange as you go under it stay in the right lane and exit to the right.

After exiting stay to the left, and take the next left at the overpass. This is 360 South. (also known as Capital of Texas highway)

(Stay in the left lane, you'll be turning left onto Lakewood for the Bull Creek Park.)

Go past Spicewood Springs road, and watch for the LakeWood intersection.

Turn left, and follow it around, the first turnin is a bare parking area by the creek, keep going, and you'll find the main park.

From Houston via Hwy 71 (Alt route)

Don't exit on Hwy 183N, stay on Hwy 71, and follow it to Hwy 360. hwy 71 will take off to the left, and you'll also see an exit for Mopac (Loop 1). Keep going straight on 360, (also known as Capital of Texas highway), it loops around the city. Just a couple miles past the river, you'll see FM 2222, keep going past it, until you see the exit for Lakewood, it'll be just a few miles on your right.

Turn right, and follow it around, the first turnin is a bare parking area by the creek, keep going, and you'll find the main park.

From Dallas

To avoid the conjestion of the I35 south and 183N intersection, just find Braker Lane, Exit 143 I beleive it is.

Go west like Ricks map shows, (right when coming south). Follow Braker Lane west, to Mopac (Loop 1).

You'll go past the big IBM plant on the right, and the UT JJ Pickle Campus on the left at Braker and Burnett.

Just past this is Mopac. Stay to the left, and take Mopac access road (don't enter the hwy) to HWY 360 South. .

You'll turn right on the HWY 360 south, also known as Capital of Texas highway.

Go across 183N, and stay in the middle lanes, the left-only turn there can get you.

After getting past 183, stay in the left lane, you'll be turning left onto Lakewood for the Bull Creek Park.

Go past Spicewood Springs road, and watch for the LakeWood intersection.

Turn left, and follow it around, the first turnin is a bare parking area by the creek, keep going, and you'll find the main park.

From San Antonio

Coming in from San Antonio, the I35 to 183N interchange is easy. You can go to Braker Lane, and follow the Dallas directions, or take the 183N exit just past the hwy 290 interchange. it's a right exit flyover, and once you're on 183N, the directions are the same as from Houston via 290.

Follow 183N to the Hwy 360 south exit.
