You asked for it and now youve got it. Yours truly (Rick Stivers) in my very own T-90 Rebuild Video. Im amazed at how quickly this all took place. In January 2001, this video was only an idea, and by April 2001, the video was a reality. It is intended to be used with my T-90 rebuild guide which can be found at:
http://www.willystech.com/wt/T90RebuildGuide/T90rebuild.htm
Please remember that I am not a professional mechanic. I am only passing on to you what I
have learned through my experience with these transmissions. I dont claim to know
everything about T-90 tranny, but Im doing the best I can to provide you with the
best information possible.
The video is 1 hour and 38 minutes. It was taped by Rob Pearson of Pearson
VideoPublishing. He traveled down to sunny San Antonio from Syracuse, New York just to
tape this video in my basement. Even though Rob used some of the best video equipment
available, we ran with only my guide for a script. The results are excellent. Remember,
that Im not a pro and that Ive never made a How-To Video before.
Cost of the video is $13.50 in US funds Includes packaging and shipping cost!
VHS Tape, format is NTSC the US standard. Note: Overseas videotapes are of a different
format than US Standard. These will, for example, be transferred to Pal (UKstandard) Price
is approx. US$30 extra. Overseas folks... you may be able to have these tapes transferred
at a cheaper rate in your country? In which case well send you the US Formatted tape
and you have it transferred. Check, if your VCR plays American Standard? Many have dual
playback formats.
The cost, includes shipping at $13.50 each, Rob says thats "cheap at twice the
price" :-)
Payment is by Money Order. From PO or Bank, even Walmart has MOs - make payable to;
Rob Pearson. NY State Residents should add 8% NY State Sales Tax - Doggone Tax Man :-(
Allow about 10 days for the tape once Rob receives your payment. Call Rob, or e-mail him
if you have any other questions. Phone 1- 607-749-2627 or Email address aussierob2@odyssey.net The Postal Address is,

Testimonials:
Just a quick comment on the video that Rick Stivers & Rob Pearson made up on How to
Rebuild a T-90, its excellent! Rick goes step by step - disassembly, cleaning,
inspection and re assembly. He makes it look simple. If you are going to redo a T-90 I
suggest you get the video. It is only $13.50. Paul in upstate NY
I just finished watching Rick Stivers and Joe Van Slyke T90 tape. If youre going to
rebuild your transmission or might know someone who will in the next 25 years get this
tape. At $13.50 it is better than a table dance and less likely to get you in trouble.
Although not the same as our Jeepster transmissions it is close. Use a micrometer to
measure the shafts though. Fred
The T-90 Video cannot be over praised. I feel it is worthwhile for anyone on this list
that finds value in the contributions of our fellow Techers to order this video, so that
it may encourage more work like it. It is a small price to pay for such a return. With all
my thanks. Marshall.
Hi Techies, I must say that I second Marshalls comment
about the video. My Hat is off to Rick Stivers, Joe Van Slyke and Rob a great job
gentlemen. I certainly hope that the list supports your efforts and then maybe we can get
a T/C video too. I have rebuilt quite a few trannys in my younger days, but you can always
learn something. The tape is very informative and I was impressed to say the least. Willys
Tech is just such a great group of guys & gals! Best, Papa (Jerry Weaver)
Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents worth re T90 video. I just got mine in the mail today
and have watched about half of it. It is great for someone like me who is new to this type
rebuild. I feel very confident about going out to the shop in the near future, setting up
the TV and VCR and digging in to that Tranny (after Ive watched it 2 or 3 times).
All I can say is thanks this is great. Looking forward to future productions. Most
differently I am interested in any future tapings you guys do. If you dont have one
of these tapes get one!!! Clyde Arkansas.
I dont think you can get more information anywhere!!! I tend to be critical on
things like this. But, I was very impressed with this tape. It sure isnt a slick
sterile tape, but more like going over to a friends house for the afternoon to shoot the
breeze and have a beer while he rebuilds his transmission. Ricks shirt gets dirtier
as the tape progress and a Band-Aid suddenly appears on a finger. Bet there was an edit
there! Bottom line is its a great deal for $10. I wish I wouldve had it
earlier in my Willys life. We really do need a Transfer case video also. Rick, we really
do need to talk about the quality of those tools! Bob in WI
I watched it at work. I sat there as long as I could & I finally decided to heck with
it! I am going to see what its all about. "WOW" that is some kinda GOOD.
Very good info and very good visuals. I would recommend it to anyone that has a T-90,
whether they plan working on it or not." IT IS SOME GOOD
WATCHING">>>>regards Fred P.
Rick and Joe, Rob, Thank you very much for your efforts in producing this video. It was
absolutely captivating. In fact, I would not be surprised if it was nominated for an
Academy Award. Well...that might be stretching it a bit but it is a really good video. At
the price, I felt like I stole it from you. I am eagerly awaiting a Spicer 18 video. I
would pay $20 for your next video. Great work guys! Best Willys Wishes, Bill - Citrus
Heights, CA
Rick & Joe: This letter, copied below, came in through a guy that runs/teaches a New
York State program for learning impaired teens and troubled teens., etc.! This Willys fan
attended our local chapter meeting (MVPA) and is rebuilding an M38 (I think) ! So, after
using the tape he replied, which I copied below. Contact him if you wish ... he seemed
like a nice person when we met and by the tone of this email! Best regards, Rob
"Hi Rob; WOW! Our T-90 is together; it actually only took 3 days of one 40 minute
period a day to do the bulk of the work. The best way we found was to move the
transmission into the drafting room, watch 5 minutes or so twice through and then :DO IT!
You people get my sincerest thanks and any reference I can provide is yours for the
asking! -Jim Juczak Watertown, NY
Hey Rob, this afternoon, came into the house to watch part of it and ended up watching the
whole thing. It is a great tape, and I thank the whole crew who worked on it. I do have a
disagreement with you all though. You all made a point of saying that this is not a
professional production...I strongly disagree. It is as professional as any one of the
shows on PBS. In fact, its better because its shows everything. Also, Id like
to suggest that on your next tape production (you know the Transfer Case rebuild) that you
at least double the price. Ill still buy two of them. - Rick Gray, Copperas Cove,
Texas
